Random Question...

(obviously not MY baby, but a friend's :-P)

So I almost apologize for the prolific baby-ness that will be sneaking into this blog now. But when you feel nasty for at least part of every day, and are fighting the puke... you gotta remember WHY you're dealing with this (with so little complaining too!) And that's just bound to overflow here :-P

SO... a little survey I hope you'll all play along with me in today...

What is the one (or more if you're feeling generous) baby-item(s) that you couldn't do without?

Ideally, I'm curious about the one that surprised you the most, or was least expected... but I'll take anything. If you don't have a baby, what's one that a friend used that you thought was cool? Or some baby thing you've seen on the street that you've said "Wow! I need to remember that!" Double points if you tell me why :-P

I could not do without this: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3739296. Well I could have because we didn't have one for Makenzie, but it made a world of difference with Bekkah. Since it keeps them reclined it helps with colic, ear infection, congestions, etc. Also great for traveling and so much easier than taking a pack-n-play. Also love my Sleepy Wrap. Still carry Bekkah in it.

If you plan on nursing, a great nursing cover is super helpful. You can easily make these. I used to just hide in the car or somewhere private, but it gets really lonely when you have to do this all the time. And, when you're hiking on those trails with the cool hiking backpack you found, a nursing cover makes it easy to feed on the go and you don't have to worry about the baby dehydrating on those hot days on the trails.

Also couldn't do without our jogging stroller. We have the Baby Trend one (used to have the single, now we have the double). The single comes with a car seat, but the only thing I don't like about it is that the buckle is kind of annoying.

I would also recommend a car seat base for each car... so much better than transfering and there were days Sam had to take the car and I forgot to get the base out and then I was stranded at home for the day.

Jess... you are fabulous. :)

That rocker thing looks very promising! And although I've got carriers down it seems, lol, what is this "Sleepy Wrap" you speak of?!?

fab ideas on the other comments too! I'll be sure to make sure those are all covered! (Especially the extra base... being stranded is no fun!)

As you know I have no babies however I have shopped for tons of friends who do and these are def. their "what to not live without lists"...(also things to register for)
1. they all say diapers!! 2. Baby Bjorn..which gives you the ability to hold your baby and have 2 hands free..great for multi-tasking. 3. Diaper Genie..a must! 4. Boppy pillow for feedings and you can prop the baby in the baby and they can just hang out. 5. Last..they have these cool hooks for baby strollers that you can use to hook your bags on when you go shopping--super useful. Hope this helps and can't wait to see you.
Love,
Dee
